Back in December, I’d made a Dept. of Speculation post, calling out a forthcoming large mag, water-based earthquake for February.

And here we are:

  1. 2.10.21: A 7.7+ near the coast of New Zealand.
  2. 2.13.21: 7.1 off the coast of the Fukushima prefecture.

These are few and far between. I may have written here before that up to a half dozen temblors occur daily in the 5+ range that you never hear so they tend not to register any headlines unless it (a) affects an urban population or (b) is of a large magnitude.
